Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA on this website. It hasn't had an independent audit yet, so if something gets in your way, please tell us.
What this website does
- Every page has landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer), one main heading and headings in order, so you can jump around with a screen reader.
- Every page starts with a "Skip to content" link.
- The pictures of Lockspot's screens have text alternatives that describe what each screen shows.
- Everything works with a keyboard, including the questions on the home page and the hold-to-lock-in demo: press Space or Enter once and the ring fills by itself, and Escape stops it. A screen reader's double-tap works the same way.
- Keyboard focus is always visible, with a purple outline, and it never hides under the sticky header.
- If you turn on Reduce Motion, animations become still, finished pictures, and the meme card doesn't change by itself. The hold-to-lock-in ring still fills, because it shows your progress. Where the meme card does change on its own, it has a Pause button and stops after one round.
- Text on these pages meets at least 4.5:1 contrast (WCAG AA). Body text is #C7C7CC on #0E0E10, about 11:1.
- Pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling, and text can be zoomed to 200%.
- The site sets no cookies and has no pop-ups.
In the Lockspot app
- You don't have to draw a shape to make a zone. "Use a block around me" makes a zone about 60 m across around where you are.
- Hold to lock in blocks your apps anywhere, with no drawing and no location needed.
Known limits
- Drawing a custom zone shape needs a finger on the map. If that's hard for you, use "Use a block around me" or Hold to lock in instead.
Report a barrier
If any part of this site or the app is hard to use, tell us on GitHub. Say which page or screen, what you were trying to do, and what you use (for example a screen reader, switch control or zoom). Questions there are public, so leave out personal details. A private email address will be added here.
